Thursday 21st May – hiking **** - Port Mahon circuit – sunny

After a frustrating days speedsailing it was nice to get back to our lovely spot just outside Sigean at Port Mahon. After sorting out the van and having a quick wash we headed along the Etang and must have walked 5 miles taking 2 hours lovely scenery – lots of vineyards – even seeing a couple of lama’s:)

Saturday 23rd May – hiking **** Bages to Peyriac – cloudy

After a top day’s speedsailing at La Franqui managing 40.30 kts – my third time over 40 :) Mag and I decided we needed some exercise so at 7 we left our van and headed around the Etang toward the port at Peyraic. Just shor tof the port we headed up a small hill to check the small Etang we used to stay by on previous trips – before they put rocks blocking yet another nice spot! We took the rocky path past the vineyards to the Peyriac/Bages road and back to the van watching egrets and herons feeding. We were out two hours and must have covered 5 miles – now ready for bed – knackered!

Sunday 24th May – hike **** – Gruissan

Walked through the vineyards and up onto the hills overlooking the salt works and the beach. Out about an hour and it was lovely. I took a few photos of the sunset through the woods behind us.

Monday 25th May – hike – around Gruissan – sunny

After a 5star day windsurfing at Gruissan covering 149km in 209 mins in winds gusting 25/40 mph, then in the late afternoon after sorting out the sandy van, a relaxing read and a great tea we had another lovely walk around the beautiful countryside with vineyards and etangs with Gruissan castle as a backdrop :)

Tuesday 26th May – hike **** around Gruissan – sunny

After another mega windy day windsurfing at La Franqui in winds gusting over 50 mph – I did my best mile of the trip of 34.30 kts so not a complete waste of time!
Then back at our lovely spot above Gruissan we went for another nice evening stroll around the vineyards with loads of colourful flowers, finding some top bike tracks we hope to do if only this wind would drop!!!

Wednesday 27th May – hike – around Gruissan – sunny

After another top day windsurfing at Gruissan we had another nice stroll around the vineyards in the evening before dinner – tomorrow time to tie the windsurfers on the roof and get the bikes out:)
